About 3-year-old Pre-K
In December 2015, Troy City School District opened up registration for its new Prekindergarten (Pre-K) program for 3-year-old children. This expansion of the current program was made possible by a $30 million grant from the New York State Education Department, awarded to 34 districts including Troy CSD in September 2015.
Selection for this program is based on need.
The District partners with the Commission for Economic Opportunity (CEO) in Troy to provide qualified staff members for the program. The total award of $299,144 is used for staffing, professional development, and materials and supplies.
Troy CSD will have an opportunity to renew its funding each year, contingent upon meeting certain performance targets.
