Summer Programs

The Troy City School District offers several summer programs for students in Grades Pre-K – 12. Some programs are by invite only. Please see below for details.

New! Troy Summer Strides

  • Open to all students in Grades K – 12
  • Targeted intervention/tutoring, small-group credit recovery, counseling sessions, extracurricular clubs, field trips/visits and more.
  • July 8 – August 13
  • In-person and virtual options
  • Register by Friday, June 18

Secondary Summer School

  • Students in Grades 6 – 12 – some students will be automatically registered
  • July 6 – August 12
  • In-person program
  • Register on Tuesday, June 29, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Troy High School

Elementary Summer School (Troy Summer Surge)

  • Students in Grades Pre-K – 5
  • Tuesday, July 6 – Friday, July 30
  • Monday through Friday
  • 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Location: Troy Middle School
  • Breakfast, lunch, and transportation will be provided.
  • Applications are due by Friday, May 28.
  • Troy Summer Surge 2021 is in-person, project-based and centered around providing instruction for students to develop foundational reading, writing, and math skills.  Our goal is to provide students with targeted instruction of foundational reading, writing, and math skills while working on fun and engaging activities.

21st Century Summer Program

  • Students in Grades 4 – 8
  • Transportation, breakfast and lunch provided
  • Location: Troy Middle School
  • 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • The 21st Century Summer Program is focused on academic enrichment through disguised learning, social-emotional learning, STEM and Project-Based Learning for students. Students also have time set aside for arts and physical education.

School 2 RISE Summer Program

  • School 2 students in Grades K – 5, by invite only
  • June 29 – July 22, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • Breakfast, lunch and transportation provided.

Extended School Year Program (ESY)

  • Students who are eligible for the ESY program meet specific NYSED criteria and are approved to attend the six-week summer program at the Committee on Special Education (CSE) Annual Review meeting.
  • July 6 – August 13
  • 8 – 11 a.m.
  • Breakfast, lunch and transportation provided.
