Welcome! Troy City School District offers simple online registration for new students, and students re-enrolling in Pre-K through Grade 12 beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Register from any device — no office visit required. If you are registering for the 2025-2026 school year, please use the registration forms at the bottom of this page.

This page walks you through the online enrollment process, required documents, and where to get help.

Completing your registration online is recommended – but if you need assistance or are unable to complete the process online, please make an appointment using the calendar below (available beginning July 1) or call 518-328-5431. In-person registration is available, however, priority will be given to those who make appointments.


Who Needs to Register Online?

Please complete online registration if your student is:

  • New to Troy City School District
  • Re-Enrolling in the Troy City School District
  • Entering Kindergarten
  • Enrolling in Universal Pre-K (UPK)
  • A non-public or charter school student seeking District services (e.g., transportation, Health Services)

How to Register Online

1. Start Your Online Registration

Tip: You can pause and return at any time. Use an email address you check often — updates will be sent there.

2. Prepare Required Documents

During online registration, you will upload digital copies (or clear phone photos) of:

  • Physical signed by a doctor
  • Up-to-date immunization record
  • Proof of Age (e.g., Birth Certificate)
  • Two (2) Proofs of Residency (one of the following must be provided):
    • Utility bill, e.g., National Grid or Spectrum (dated within 30 days prior to registration)
    • Current lease signed and dated by tenant and landlord
    • Mortgage statement
    • Affidavit of Residence *(only applies if parent lives in a dwelling that they do not lease or own in their name. The affidavit can be found here.)
  • Photo identification of parent/guardian
  • Dental Health Certificate (optional)

Having these ready before you begin will make the process faster.

3. Complete All Required Sections

The online form will guide you through:

  • Household & parent/guardian information
  • Student demographic details
  • Emergency contacts
  • Residency verification
  • Health & immunization history

Please complete every section to avoid delays.

4. Submit Your Registration

When finished, click Submit at the end of the form.

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email that your registration has been received within 24–48 hours.
  • If we need anything else, we will contact you.
  • A second email will follow once the registration process is complete.

Your child’s registration will not be complete until you have received verification from the Central Registration Department.

Programs & Eligibility

Kindergarten

Children must be 5 years old by December 1 of the school year you are registering for.

Universal Pre-K (UPK)

Programs for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds open registration each spring. Visit our Pre-K page for details.

Note: Classes can fill quickly, so families are encouraged to register as early as possible.

2025-2026 Pre-Kindergarten Information

The Troy City School District offers a Universal 4-year-old Pre-K program and a 3-year-old Pre-K program. Registration begins March 7th. Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before December 1 of the current school year. Visit our Pre-K page to learn more.

The Troy City School District offers a program for special education and intervention services.

 

Charter and Private School Registration

2025-2026: District residents who attend private or charter schools must register with Troy CSD for services provided by the district (textbooks, busing and other services).
