In accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations, school districts are required to test potable water sources for lead every three years. The current limit is 5 micrograms per liter (mcg/L), reduced from the previous threshold of 15 mcg/L.
Troy City School District conducted lead testing most recently in 2025. Any outlets that tested above the allowable level were immediately taken out of service and remediated. Based on the current required NYSDOH testing schedule, our next tests are planned for 2028.
