Please read this letter and information from TMS Principal Ian McShane

Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th Grade Students,

This year’s 8th-grade class has been with us since the beginning of the pandemic. Despite all of the obstacles and challenges, they have shown tremendous growth, and we are looking forward to celebrating with them at our Moving Up Ceremony.

Our Moving Up Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10 am. In order for our 8th-grade students to attend and participate, they are required to pass all subjects. More specific information regarding the ceremony (mandatory rehearsals, location, dress code, etc.) is available below.

Proper behavior is expected of each student throughout the school year. Based on our Code of Conduct, any 8th-grade student who is suspended within 30 days of the Moving Up Ceremony will not be permitted to participate in this event.

In addition, in order to be promoted to 9th grade, students are required to pass 3 out of 4 core-area classes. Core classes include Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts.

Please review these policies with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Ian McShane
Principal
