On October 16, a female student who attends School 12 reported an incident that occurred Sunday, October 15 at approximately 11 a.m. on River Street near 101st Street. The victim reported that an older white male in a red pickup truck slowed down and made inappropriate comments to the victim while suggesting she get in the vehicle. The victim ran away and reported the incident to school officials and Troy Police this morning.

Troy Police are currently investigating and have instructed all schools to operate as usual. As per District policy, all doors to school buildings are locked at all times. Any non-employee wishing to enter must be granted access by building staff.

We ask that you please remind your children to be safe, especially when walking off of District property. Remind them to walk in groups and to never speak to strangers.
