Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th Grade Students,
As the 8th Grade Principal’s Assistant of Troy Middle School, I would like to remind you that all 8th grade students are required to pass all subjects to be able to participate in the Moving-Up Ceremony on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 am in the TMS auditorium.
Proper behavior is expected of each student throughout the entire school year. Based on our Code of Conduct, any 8th grade student who is suspended within 30 school days of the Moving Up Ceremony will not be permitted to participate in this event.
In addition, in order to be promoted to 9th grade, students are required to pass 3 out of 4 core-area classes. Core classes include math, science, social studies, and English Language Arts.

Please Note:
Due to limited space, each student participating in the Moving Up Ceremony will be allocated three guest tickets. Tickets will be distributed at graduation practice on June 21st, 2018.
Parents may call 328-5305 (please leave a message with your name contact #) to be placed on the waiting list for extra tickets. If your request for extra tickets can be fulfilled, you will be contacted on Wednesday afternoon. Space is very limited.
Moving-Up Day 2018

Appropriate Moving-up Day Attire
Please choose dress clothes that reflect the age of the students and the importance of the ceremony in which each student is participating.
GIRLS:
A conservative dress (any color, please NO gowns, dresses with bare backs, midriffs or tiny spaghetti straps and no fresh flowers). For safety reasons, shoes must either have a closed back or a strap across the back.
BOYS:
A dress shirt with tie and dress pants (jackets are optional) and NO sneakers, athletic shoes or hats.
Moving-Up Day Practice
Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Students should report to the cafeteria.
Students MUST attend practice in order to participate in the Moving-Up Day Ceremony.
Moving Up Day
Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
STUDENTS: All 8th grade students participating in the Moving Up Ceremony must meet in the TMS cafeteria at 9:15 a.m. sharp!!!
PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Auditorium doors will open 9:30 am for entrance into the ceremony, tickets will be required at the door. Please note, only the front entrance to the auditorium is to be used for the Moving Up Day Ceremony.
