Capital Region YMCA

This Troy family branch provides students excellent programs that engage and challenge the students.  The YMCA is one of two centers used in this learning initiative. Both at this center and at DMS students are offered a wide variety of activities including sports camps, arts & crafts, cultural activities, theme based activities, as well as health and nutrition classes.

 

Focus on Families by Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO)

The Commission on Economic Opportunity will provide in-home visits to families whose children are at risk of academic failure.  The Family Development Worker will establish a relationship with parents and guardians and connect them with services they may need to more effectively manage the home and support their children’s education.  In addition, they will provide parent workshops to help parents be aware of the higher educational standards and how parents can help their children to succeed.

 

St. Anne Institute

St. Anne Institute is a not for profit organization dedicated to improving the emotional, mental and spiritual well-being of children and families throughout New York State.  St. Anne will be implementing healthy living groups in a confidential non-threatening manner on a weekly basis for a total of 30 weeks.
