Troy City School District uses Stopfinder, a secure and user-friendly mobile app that gives families and caregivers access to real-time transportation details. With Stopfinder, you can easily check your student’s bus schedule, receive updates, and send messages to our transportation team—all in one place. This app has replaced the Durham Bus Tracker as of July 1, 2025.
Why Use Stopfinder?
The Stopfinder app is secure and only available to registered users. It connects directly with Troy CSD’s transportation system to give you accurate, up-to-date bus schedule information. The app also lets you send messages to the Transportation Office and receive quick updates and alerts. This two-way communication tool is designed to make it easier for families to stay connected and informed.
With the Stopfinder app, you can:
- View your child’s daily bus schedule
- Share the schedule with caregivers or trusted contacts

- Send private messages directly to the Troy CSD Transportation Office
Get started with the Stopfinder app
The Stopfinder school bus app can be downloaded from the App Store (for iPhones) or Google Play (for Android).
Access Student Schedules
The individual listed as a student’s primary contact in our system will receive an email invitation from the Transportation Office to activate their Stopfinder account. If you’re the primary contact and haven’t received an invitation, please call us at 518-328-5431.
Once you’ve activated your account, you can choose to securely share your student’s schedule with others, like babysitters or grandparents, through the app.

What schedule does Stopfinder show for my student?
Student schedules are based on the day being viewed. If there is no school planned for the date being viewed, no schedule will appear. Swipe to the next school day to view your student’s schedule. If your student is not transported on the day or days being viewed, including regular school days, “No Schedule” will appear.
Can I change where my student is picked up or dropped off through the Stopfinder app?
You cannot change your student’s bus stop through the app but you can contact the transportation department by using the app’s message function by tapping the ellipsis next to your student’s name, then tap “Message. ” You can also click here for more ways to contact the transportation department.
How do I share my student’s schedule with someone else?
Tap the ellipses menu on the upper right-hand corner of the student card for the student you wish to share. Tap Share Schedule on the menu that opens at the bottom of the screen. Enter the required fields on the Share Schedule screen and tap Share.
Can subscribers I invite to view my student’s schedule invite others to use the app and access the student’s information?
No, only a student’s Primary Subscriber can share student schedules. Students only have one Primary Subscriber. Contact the Transportation Office with questions concerning your student’s Primary Subscriber.
How do I see my student’s map?
Tap the ellipses menu on the upper right-hand corner of the student card. Tap the Map button on the menu that opens at the bottom of the screen.
Why don’t I see the bus?
The bus will only appear for districts using the Stopfinder GeoAlerts feature. Contact the Transportation Office regarding GeoAlerts and if the bus should be displayed for your student.
How do I create a GeoAlert to receive GeoAlert notifications?
From the student map, tap the red GeoAlert button on the bottom of the screen. If your district has GeoAlerts, follow the prompts to draw one or more alert zones on the map. Please view this video to learn more.
Why don’t I see all my students in the Stopfinder app?
Stopfinder subscriptions are for individual students. You will only see students your district has added to the Stopfinder app. Contact the Transportation Office with questions about specific students and their schedules.
