Focus District Parent Letter

Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the New York State Education Department (NYSED) is required to annually review the performance of each school district. The Troy City School District was recently re-identified by NYSED as a Focus District for the 2017-2018 school year.

Superintendent’s Letter regarding District Comprehensive Improvement Plan

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) requires all states to create their own high academic standards for what a child should know and be able to do in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Each school must achieve the state’s proficiency each year and Troy is developing a District Comprehensive Improvement Plan for schools in need of improvement. We encourage our parents to participate in this process because you are an integral part of ensuring the academic success of your child. Please read the attached letter from Superintendent John Carmello regarding Troy City School District’s focus status. Focus status letter en espanol.
