2022 Board Candidates

Four candidates are running for three seats on the Troy City School District’s Board of Education on May 17, 2022. The three candidates will be elected to three-year terms commencing on July 1, 2022 and expiring on June 30, 2025.

Board Candidate Biographies

Candidates appear below in the order in which they will appear on the ballot.

Sharon Felock

Sharon Felock is a Troy resident and retired teaching assistant for 28 years in the Troy City School District as well as a former private school preschool teacher. She is a graduate of Cohoes School District, Mildred Elley and Hudson Valley Community College. Ms. Felock volunteers weekly at the Regional Food Bank and formerly volunteered at a church which recently closed. Sharon is the proud mother of one daughter who attended the Troy City School District and went on to graduate from Russell Sage and SUNY Albany.

 

Ebony Pompey-Conway (Incumbent)
Incumbent Ebony Pompey Conway is a Troy resident seeking re-election to the Board of Education where she is currently the Vice President and serves on the policy committee. She is a graduate of Troy High School and holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Russell Sage College, where she is currently serving on the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Pompey-Conway is a Senior Strategic Program Manager for Key Bank where she has been employed for over twenty five years. She and her husband, Whitney Conway, have four children. Two of which attend School 14; Mason and Madison.

Ann M. Apicella (Incumbent)
Incumbent Ann M. Apicella is serving her third term as Board member, originally elected in 2013, and a member of the policy, district leadership and mini-grant committees. She is a life-long resident of Troy and a retired teaching assistant of 26 years in the Troy City School District. She attended Catholic Central High School, Hudson Valley Community College and Maria College. Mrs. Apicella is the Vice President of the St. Mary’s Auxiliary. She was active in the former St. Joseph’s PTA, former School 12 PTO and past vice president of the Troy Teachers Association. She and her husband Paul have two daughters and two grandsons.

 

Anne Wager-Rounds (Incumbent)
Incumbent Anne Wager-Rounds is serving her fifth term on the Board of Education, originally elected in 2007. She is currently the Board President and serves on the policy and capital project advisory committees. She has held past Board positions of vice president, parliamentarian and chair of the facilities committee. Mrs. Wager-Rounds is a life-long resident of Troy and graduate of Troy High School Class of ’73. She is a retired business owner and is currently the Office Director for The American Legion Department of New York headquarters. She has a daughter who is a 2009 graduate of Troy High School.
