We are heartbroken to share that Abigail Rizzo, one of the students involved in Sunday’s tragic house fire, has passed away from her injuries. Abigail was a sixth-grade student at Troy Middle School, and previously attended School 14. Our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with Abigail’s family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all those who knew and loved her.
This is an unimaginable loss for the Rizzo family and everyone who knows and cares about them. We ask that you keep this family in your hearts during this incredibly difficult time.
We recognize that a tragedy like this may cause students and staff to experience a wide range of emotions, including grief, sadness, confusion, and anxiety. We want our students and staff to know that they do not have to navigate these feelings alone. We have mobilized our crisis response team and have additional counselors and support staff available for any student or staff member who would like to talk or seek support. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the entire Rizzo family, their loved ones, and all those affected by this tragedy.
