Third graders at Carroll Hill spent the last month researching animals and practicing their writing. On March 12, they displayed their research for families and the school community to see.
On Thursday, March 12, third-grade students at Carroll Hill Elementary School hosted a research showcase for families, siblings, and staff — and the students were the experts in the room.
Over the past month, third graders explored animal topics through books and online research databases, practiced writing informational texts, and designed posters to present their findings to an audience. The project connected reading and writing skills in a hands-on way, giving students an authentic purpose for their work.
Families packed the room to see students in action — asking questions, reading posters, and celebrating the hard work their children put in.
Strong readers and writers grow when they have real reasons to read and write. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see what our students learned!
