9/9 vs Ravena: 3-2 W (OT)

Ravena visited Troy for a Colonial Council League game under the lights. Both teams came out ready to fight and the game would be tied 1-1 within the first 10 minutes. Marcus Dudley opened the scoring for Troy on a solo effort, beating several Revena defenders along the end line and squeezing his shot high and inside the near post. Ravena would quickly respond on a through ball from Tristan Wilsey that was calmly poked past the out rushing Troy keeper by Daniel Dulay. The rest of the first half would be back-and-forth, but Troy kept generating chances, and Jackson Murray found Dawson Fera on a cross inside the box to give the Flying Horses the 2-1 lead at the half. The second half would again see Troy creating a majority of the chance, but the Ravena defense and goalkeeper would not give into the pressure. Against the run of play, Ravena found an equalizer when Wilsey picked up a backpass from a Troy defender and was able to level the score. The game would head to overtime, where Troy continued to work to find that winning goal. It came during the first overtime, When Samuel Akowuah got on the end of a dangerous throw-in that bounced around the box before falling to his feet where he finished for the overtime winner.

9/11 vs Cohoes: 3-2 L

Cohoes came across the Hudson for a neighboring district Colonial Council matchup. The game was an absolute battle by both sides from start to finish, with both teams leaving everything out on the field. Troy opened the scoring early in the first half when a well delivered Jackson Murray corner kick found the head of Ethan Hoxha. Cohoes was then able to play their way into the game and earned a PK, which Luis Edson stepped up to convert. With the score level, the rest of the first half would see back-and-forth play with both sides generating chances. Before halftime, the Flying Horses were able to take advantage when Marcus Dudley found the go ahead goal on a nice through ball from Dawson Fera. At the start of the second half, Cohoes came out strong and looked to apply pressure and had the majority of possession. Despite generating chance after chance, Troy‘s defense and goalkeeper James Rua stood strong and frustrated Cohoes attack as as they kept looking for the equalizer. With five minutes left, Cohoes was able to earn a second PK and Edson converted from the spot to earn a brace and tie the game. A minute later Cohoes would have another prime opportunity and Dom Figueroa was able to seize it to take the lead. The game would finish 3-2 in favor of Cohoes. Shout out to Cohoes keeper Landon Marcil who had several great saves himself.

9/18 vs Mohonasen: 3-2 L/OT

Mohoasen visited Troy for what would be a tight back-and-forth battle that was decided in overtime. The first half was scoreless, but both teams worked their way up and down the pitch and created chances that the opposing defenses were able to turn away. The second half saw most of the action. Troy started the scoring when Marcus Dudley earned a PK and Winston Smith stepped up to convert it. A few minutes later, Troy would double their lead when a 50-50 ball was picked up by Mohammed Al-Masswawari. He then made a nice move around a Mohon defender before burying a shot from deep. Despite the deficit, Mohonasen kept fighting and with 18 minutes left Angel Perez converted on a breakaway down the right side to cut Troy‘s lead back to one. With some momentum, Mohon kept applying pressure and tied the game with 3 minutes remaining. Calvin Tarasovich picked up a loose ball in the box after a set piece delivered by Aeden Shea Moore and turned to score. The game would go into overtime and after a few minutes Angel Perez was able to cut inside after a through ball down the left side of the field and score an incredible finish into the opposite top corner from just outside the 18.
