Tryouts for Fall Cheerleading will take place on August 18, 19, and 20 in the Troy Middle School small gym.

  • August 18 & 19: Tryouts will be held from 6:00–8:00 PM.
  • August 20: Participants will be assigned an individual time slot between 5:00–7:00 PM. Time slots will be provided on the first day of tryouts.
  • Team placement will be announced on August 20.

Eligibility Requirements

  • All students must be cleared by the school nurse to try out. Please submit an updated physical and completed sports form to the Health Office as soon as possible.
  • Incoming 6th graders are not eligible to try out for JV or Varsity. However, more information about our new Modified Cheerleading Program will be shared soon.

Participants are required to learn both the dance and the cheer for tryouts. Please review the provided materials carefully. The words for the cheer are listed below:

APP Testing

Any incoming 7th or 8th graders planning to try out must pass the Athletic Placement Process (APP) test.

  • The test will be held on August 13 at 6:00 PM in the TMS small gym.
  • Students who have already passed the APP test do not need to retake it.
  • If a student does not pass the APP test, they will be ineligible for the fall season, but may retake the test for winter participation.
