Students and staff from Troy High School and Troy Middle School Life Skills classrooms, along with event volunteers, pose for a group photo at their sensory-friendly prom, held in the Troy Room on May 31.
On Saturday, May 31, students from Mrs. Burnham’s, Mrs. Bonenfant’s, Ms. Staats’s, and Ms. Rogers & Ms. Valente’s special education classrooms gathered for a prom celebration designed just for them.
Held in the Troy Room at Troy Middle School, the event featured a sensory-friendly environment where students could enjoy dancing, take photos in the photo booth, and play games, including a rousing round of limbo. Attendees also enjoyed pizza, cookies, and a special cake to honor our graduating seniors.

Students and staff pose together in front of a festive tropical balloon display during the Life Skills prom, held May 31 in the Troy Room.
The event would not have been possible without the dedication of our teachers, teaching assistants, staff and administrators who gave their time and energy to ensure a wonderful afternoon for our students.
The Life Skills team would like to extend a special thank you to the Troy Booster Club/TMS PTO for their donations in support of the event and the National Junior Honor Society students who helped decorate and chaperone the prom.
