The CBA-Troy-Columbia 200 Medley Relay team is one of two relay teams and six individual swimmers to qualify for the NYS Championship.

For the second consecutive year, the CBA-Troy-Columbia (CTC) Swim Team finished in second place at the Section 2 Championship meet. This is a significant accomplishment—the teams that finished in first place the last two years had at least twice as many swimmers as CTC.

An intense finish in the 400 Free Relay secured the second spot on the podium, with CTC just edging out Saratoga. The team of Quinn Nelson, Andrew Orcutt, AJ BEtte, and Liam Witting finished in 3:13.36 – a top ten all-time finish in Section 2 history.

Thanks to their strong swimming at Sectionals, six CTC swimmers have qualified for the NYS Championship meet on March 6-7 in Ithaca.

  • Rocco Jabour (Troy) – 100 Breaststroke
  • Andrew Orcutt (Columbia) – 100 Fly
  • Quinn Nelson (CBA) – 100 Back, 100 Fly
  • Liam Witting (CBA) – 50 Free, 100 Free
  • Luka DiFabio (CBA) – 500 Free, 200 IM
  • AJ Bette (CBA) – 200 Free

Two CTC relay teams also qualified for the state championship:

  • 200  Medley Relay – Quinn Nelson, Rocco Jabour, Andrew Orcutt, Liam Witting (New Team Record – 1:37.08)
  • 400 Free Relay – Quinn Nelson, Andrew Orcutt, AJ Bette, Liam Witting.

The team is currently ranked 20th in the state heading into the championship meet next month. Congratulations to all the CTC swimmers on an outstanding performance, and we wish everyone good luck at states!
