The TMS Little Free Library opened last week, filled with donations from PTO Book Drives and built by THS Technology students.
Looking for something to read at TMS? Last week, students, staff and PTO representatives cut the ribbon on the school’s new Little Free Library in the main lobby!
Built by Troy High School technology students and filled with books from TMS PTO book drives, any student is welcome to find a book on the new shelves. Also part of the library – a sign engraved with the word “read” in each language spoken by TMS students.
“Last year, our PTO had the great idea of getting a little free library together just to make sure our kids had more access to books,” said TMS Principal Ian McShane. “So it’s just another opportunity to get more books into our kids’ hands that they can take home and keep forever. We’re just really excited to open this up, so thank you to our PTO and for our students who have done a great job putting this together.”
If you have any books you’d like to donate to the Little Free Library, you can drop them off any time at the TMS main office.

This “Read” sign features each language spoken by TMS students.

THS Technology students constructed the shelves and bench and created the “read” sign. The library is filled with books collected from several PTO book drives.
