The Columbia-Troy-Averill Park Girls Varsity Swim Team finished an impressive season with an outstanding performance at the Section II Championship Meet held on November 8 at the Shenendehowa Aquatic Center. Demonstrating depth and talent across the board, the team secured a strong sixth-place finish, earning 172 points in a highly competitive field. Captain Angelina MacLeod was named Section II Champion and qualified for the state championship in the 500-yard freestyle.
Out of the eleven swimmers who qualified for the championships, eight achieved top-16 finishes. All three relay teams placed in the top eight, finishing seventh (200 free), seventh (200 medley), and eighth (400 free) in their respective events.

Individual swimmers shone brightly, leading to numerous lifetime and season-best performances. Senior captain Angelina MacLeod had an exceptional meet, finishing third in the 200-yard freestyle—missing the state qualifying time by only 0.05 seconds. MacLeod swam a personal best in the 500-yard freestyle of 5:14.35 and a first-place finish, earning her the title of Section II champion and a spot in the State Championship meet in Webster on November 17.
Tenth-grader Georgia Dunbar finished seventh in the 500-yard freestyle, Lizzy McMahon took 9th place in the 100-yard backstroke, and Stella Toomajian took tenth place in the 50-yard freestyle. The team had a total of 12 personal best times and eight season-best times out of 23 events.
