9/19 @ LaSalle: 0-0 draw

Troy hosted LaSalle for their home opener, and from the first whistle, the Flying Horses made it known that they came to play. Troy’s defensive pressure kept LaSalle pinned in their half for most of the beginning of the game, but neither side was able to create quality chances. As the 1st half went on, play started to open up more, and LaSalle was able to create some opportunities through build-up play, but neither team could get a good enough chance to break through. The second half and overtime periods were much the same. Troy was slightly favored in possession on the night, but both teams’ defensive efforts were outstanding, and as the game went back and forth, Troy’s James Rua and Lasalle’s Cooper Muscolino both made quality saves when needed to keep the ball out of the net. The Cadets’ Elijah Rodriguez had an especially great game in the back line, and Troy’s Charles Ryan had a great game as well, as he worked from box to box in the midfield. Shout out to both teams for a great match!

James Rua had six saves in net for Troy, and Cooper Muscolino had four saves in net for LaSalle

The girls with only 13 players played a terrific game. Ravena, a good team, was struggling to find options in the first half. Ravena ended up winning the match 4-0 in the end with the girls playing hard the entire game.

9/19 @ LaSalle: 2-2 Draw/OT

Troy dominated the game start to finish.  However, after 70 minutes played, Lasalle was winning 2-0.  Rosie Sanchez saved the game by scoring two goals late in the game. One was a penalty kick, and the other was a beautiful left-footed shot from just inside the box.  Alana Spence and Emerie Keddell-Tuckey had amazing performances in Midfield.  The game ended 2-2 after overtime.  Showed amazing determination and resiliency to come back from a late 2-goal deficit.
