The Troy-Averill Park Girls Varsity Swim Team had a solid showing at the Section II Championships on Nov. 5.

Congratulations to the Troy-Averill Park Varsity Girls Swim Team for putting up a solid showing at the Sectional Championship on Saturday!

Troy-AP finished 7th in the 400 Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:52.89. The team included Raegan O’Brien (AP), Charlize Delair (Troy), Mikaleigh Hughes (Troy) and Angelina MacLeod (Troy).

In the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Raegan O’Brien (AP), Caroline Antolick (AP), Charlize Delair (Troy) and Maeve McDermott (Troy) finished 6th with a new team-best time of 1:53.60.

8th Grader Angelina MacLeod (Troy) finished in fourth place with a personal best of 5:23.38 in the 500 Freestyle.

Special congratulations as well to AP’s Raegan O’Brien, who finished second in the 100 Backstroke with a personal best of 58.48 and second in the 200 Freestyle and qualified for the state championship with another personal best of 1:56.04.

We’d also like to recognize our three seniors who competed in their final sectional championship – Maeve McDermott (Troy), Mikaleigh Hughes (Troy) and Caroline Antolick (AP).
