School 2 will host a public hearing on September 29, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss “receivership” and how it continues to impact the school, as well as to answer the public’s questions. School 2 is located at 470 Tenth Street in Troy.

School 2 was placed into receivership in April 2015 due to its designation as a Priority School since 2012-2013. Under this identification, the superintendent acts as the “receiver” and is granted additional authority to improve the academic performance and to meet the mandates required under New York State Education Law.

“The Troy City School District remains committed to each and every student reaching his or her full potential and, as we enter the new year, we are encouraged by the improvements in achievement and change to the culture and climate that have been made by the School 2 community over the last few years,” said Troy CSD Superintendent John Carmello. We look forward to continuing the positive changes and progress we have made to move the school forward and make this vision a reality for all of our students.”

School 2 families and the community are encouraged to attend. For those unable to attend the Receivership Information Session, written comments may be submitted to Superintendent John Carmello by email at supt@troycsd.org or mail at 475 First Street, Troy, NY 12180.
