We are aware of the nationwide social media rumors involving a “school shooting challenge” at schools across the country tomorrow, December 17. This threat, which originated on TikTok, did not originate locally and no Troy schools have been specifically targeted. While the threats are unsubstantiated, we take seriously any potential for violence in our schools. The district is working closely with our School Resource Officer and Troy Police Department to take additional preventative measures to ensure that Troy schools remain safe.
