James was one of two Students of the Month for March. This is James’s second year at School 12 and he is a graduating senior. It is also his second time winning Student of the Month this year! We are proud of all of James’ hard work!
Q: How has School 12 helped you?
All the help from the teachers has helped me to become a better student. I’m never worried about asking for help because all my teachers and TAs are so supportive. School 12 has helped me to feel more confident about not only being a student but more confident about myself because all the kids are so welcoming and I made a lot of friends quickly.
Q: Why do you think you are successful here?
The smaller classes are a big part of this. I don’t feel overwhelmed or lost in the class because it’s easy to get help from my teachers or TAs since there are not many students in class. My effort in school has also increased because of how comfortable School 12 has made me feel.
Q: What is your favorite class and why?
Do I have to pick one? It’s hard because I like all of my teachers a lot and they make it really fun to be in class. I’ve never really ever had a favorite class, but the teachers here have made me like my classes all equally.
Q: If you could be anything, what would you be?
Easy question: firefighter. I have always wanted to help people in some way, and firefighting is something that has always interested me. Since I am graduating this year, I am going to start the process of becoming a firefighter. I’m hoping to volunteer at the fire department in Troy this summer.
