Virtual SAT Prep Coming in October 2021
We are pleased to announce that Troy High School will be offering a FREE, Virtual SAT Prep class with Christopher Brown to seniors in fall 2021. SAT Prep will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:45 pm to 6:15 pm, beginning October 6 and ending November 3.
The class will be held in person in the Troy Middle School. We are encouraging our students to register for the November 6th SAT as soon as possible. Seats will fill up fast as all tests are open for students from surrounding districts in the area. This prep class will do a very good job of preparing students for either the SAT or ACT exams. This is an invaluable opportunity for our students.

If you are interested in attending these sessions please email THS School Guidance office at guidance@troycsd.org from your personal gmail account or school account. You can also call the office at 518-328-5472 or email your students’ school counselor directly. There will also be a google form your senior can fill out to sign up. You must be signed up to attend. The seats are limited to the first 50 students who reserve a spot. Again, sign your students up for the November SAT as the registration deadline is October 8th. HUDSON VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Hudson Valley Community College admissions staff will be visiting Troy High School to conduct Same Day Admission on December 7th, 8th and 9th. Counselors will be going into English classes in November to assist students to fill out the applications that will be used to schedule them an appointment during the Instant Admit Days. At the end of the student’s individual meeting, he/she will receive an acceptance into one of HVCC’s programs. HVCC will waive application fees for all students who register at that time. We encourage students who are using Hudson Valley as their first choice and those who are using it as their backup financial or academic choice to meet with the staff on those days.
COLLEGE GOAL 2021
For assistance completing the online Financial Aid forms (FAFSA/TAP) for college help will be available on Saturday, November 20th at HVCC in the Guenther Enrollment Services Center from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please call Guidance to make an appointment starting Tuesday, October 12th.

College Application Process:
The THS Guidance staff will be pushing into English 12 classes the week of October 5th to introduce the College Application Process to students. We will be setting up students with their Common App accounts and also linking those to their Naviance accounts. This is crucial for any students looking to apply to a four-year college or university. We will be posting a full information video on this process as well for any remote or absent students. After we meet with all students in their English 12 classes, we will be setting up 12th grade in-person and remote meetings with our seniors.
