On Friday, March 16, Troy City School District staff from all eight buildings converged at Troy Middle School for a “Troy Leads Troy” professional development day led almost exclusively by our own staff.

Troy employees took the lead to share what they have learned through book studies, workshops and conferences or by visiting other schools. The extensive list of sessions were specifically designed to meet the district-wide needs and achieve the goals outlined in the district’s Professional Development Plan:

  • Curriculum
  • Culturally Responsive Practices
  • Reading and Writing
  • Recruit and retain highly qualified faculty
  • Safe and secure environment for all students, employees and visitors
  • Effective Technology Integration
  • Improve achievement of students with disabilities and those academically at risk
  • Family and community engagement
