On Saturday, March 9, eight teams from Troy City School District competed in the Region Four Odyssey of the Mind Tournament at Coxsackie-Athens High School. For the third year in a row, the team from School 18 took first place in their division and will be going to the state final tournament. The Troy High School team finished second place in their division and will also advance to the state tournament in Binghamton on March 23.

Eight Grade students interested in the Troy Riverfront P-TECH program must submit their application packets by April 18. The packet includes: students application; parent application; teacher recommendation form; and school counselor recommendation form. Join us on Thursday, January 17 at 6 p.m. at Troy Middle School. P-TECH is a 6-year program that leads to an Associate’s Degree from HVCC. Upon completion, graduates are first in line to be considered at partnering organizations. College tuition and books are paid for through the P-TECH grant.
On January 3, 2019, the Troy City School District hosted its annual District Wide Spelling Bee. Twenty-four students from all five elementary schools and Troy Middle School competed at Troy Middle School. Congratulations to 4-time First Place Winner Elisabeth McDonald, 2nd Place Winner Inari Sohn and 3rd Place Winner Michael Leonard – all of Troy Middle School. These students will advance to the regional competition at Proctor’s Theater in Schenectady in February.
The Family Engagement Survey is conducted in order to assess the current functioning of our schools from the perspective of our families. This survey will take 15 minutes and there should be one survey submitted per household. All submissions are anonymous.
