Troy City School District welcomes New York Times Best Selling Author Nancy Jo Sales on Wednesday, May 31 for an urgent and frank conversation about the effects of social media and smart phones on our sons and daughters. A panel discussion with Troy CSD staff and administrators to follow.
On May 16, residents will vote on the proposed 2017-2018 budget and a proposition to authorize the creation of a Capital Reserve Fund. The proposed $112,018,797 budget maintains all programs and staff and comes with a 0.45% tax levy increase. There is no future tax implication to establish the Capital Reserve Fund. Residents will also elect three incumbent candidates to the Board of Education who are running unopposed. Visit our Budget webpage for details by clicking the link above.
Students in Grades 7 – 12, and their families, are invited to attend a special event at Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program helps students prepare for academic success as well as college or career achievements.
On March 14, winter storm “Stella” forced the district to close for two days. New York State Education law requires districts to provide no less than 180 days of instruction. To ensure we meet this requirement, we are amending the 2016-2017 district calendar. Friday, May 26, 2017 and Friday, June 9, 2017 are now half days.
Please join us at Carroll Hill School on Tuesday, March 21, at 6 p.m. for the March parent workshop: “Anxiety and Depression in School Age Learners: What Should I Know? How Can I Help?” Click the link above for details.
