4 female swimmers holding ribbonsCongratulations to the Girls Swim Team on a successful season! Photos are from the Section 2 Swimming & Diving Championships at Shenendehowa Aquatics Center. This year, seven girls made it to sectionals. Four of the seven THS girls made it back for finals, along with three relay teams.

Gabrielle Swider placed 11th in the 200 IM at prelims with her best time of a 2:27.85. She came back to swim this again in finals and placed 11th overall. Gabby also swam the 100 backstroke and placed 10th in prelims with a best time of a 1:07.03. She came back to swim this at finals and placed 11th overall.

Mikaleigh Hughes tied for the final spot in the 100 fly. She had to do a swim off against the girl she tied with from Glens Falls. Both girls went a 1:11.84. Mikaleigh won the swim off with a best time of a 1:10.33. Since she won the swim off, she was able to swim the event again in finals. She placed 16th overall.

female swimmer with two coachesLydia Godman also swam the 100 fly and placed 12th in prelims. She came back to swim this in finals with a best time of a 1:05.65. She moved up to 11th place overall.

Elah Ginsburg swam the 100 freestyle and placed 14th in prelims. She came back to swim this in finals with a best time of a 1:00.45 and placed 14th overall.

The 200 freestyle relay consisted of Elah Gisburg, Greta Zampier, Maeve McDermott, and Lydia Godman. At finals, they placed 7th out of the 13 schools.

Greta Zampier swam the 100 backstroke and placed 14th in prelims. She came back to swim this event in finals and went a best time of a 1:09.33. Greta placed 15th place overall for that event.
