During the March 4 Board of Education Meeting, Superintendent John Carmello presented Draft 2 of the 2020-2021 Troy City School District Budget. Residents will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 19 to vote on the proposed budget.

The final tax cap for the Troy City School District is 2.13 percent. Draft 2 of the budget totals $116,369,737, currently leaving us with a budget gap of $903,934. This draft maintains all current staff and programs. It also includes the addition of a Special Education teacher at Troy Middle School and an Occupational Therapist for the District. Currently, the Governor’s Foundation Aid is significantly lower than what educational institutions are calling for and continues to leave Troy City Schools significantly underfunded.

Draft 3 is currently scheduled to be presented at the April 1 meeting.
